Change of Seasons with Silver Seasons: The smell of the air during crisp fall mornings in Maine, conjures memories of my youth. I was born and raised in a potato farming community located on the northern tip of Maine, adjacent to the Canadian border. Every fall, my family and I would participate in our community’s potato harvest. Three solid weeks of back breaking, wrist swelling and gruesome fatigue, with no day off other than if it rained. The money we earned purchased the clothes we needed for winter. Yet, I survived the 10 long years of potato picking and potato harvesting and have learned to appreciate the change in seasons and the breathtaking colors of autumn.
